Guide to the Library
WSEI Library offers extensive use: borrowing, photocopying, digital collections (Libra 2000)
WSEI students as well as WSEI employees are entitled to use the library.
You can start using the library the moment you activate your library account and your library card.
Since 2011/2011 students who have digital Student’s ID are requested to activate the library code on their student’s ID then the ID becomes at the same time their Library Card.
Your library account activation is free of charge.
Library users who don’t have the digital student’s ID are obliged to buy the electronic Library Card which cost about 5 Polish Zlotys. You are not allowed to lend your card to other users. However if you do this you will not be able to use the Library for 3 months.
If you lose your card you need to report it to the library staff and you will be charged 20 Polish zlotys to get a duplicate.
You are also requested to inform the library staff about any changes in you address or any data.
To activate your library account and your library card you need to have:
- valid Student’s ID - this concerns WSEI students
- valid ID – this concerns WSEI employees.
When you use the WSEI Library you need to obey the Library rules.
Library Users are responsible for the safety of the borrowed materials. In case of any noticeable damage report it to the WSEI library staff immediately. Library users are financially responsible for any book losses or damages.
If student lose or damage the books, they are obliged to:
- buy the particular title or any other title advisable by the library staff back
- pay the compensation
The library staff decide on the way of compensation.
Library Use only:
- special collectionssuch as: cassettes, videos, DVDs, CDs
- B.A thesis from previous years
- newspapers and magazines
- dictionaries, encyclopaedias, self-help books.
The number of books allowed:
- WSEI students- 3 titles
- WSEI employees – 5 titles
How long you can keep books.
- WSEI students are allowed to keep books for a month
- WSEI employees are allowed to keep books for 3 months
If there are not other students wanting to borrow the book you can extend the book.
You will be charged for keeping books longer without the library staff permission. The fine is 50 groszy for each book per day. You are not allowed to use the Library until you pay the fine.
Study Space and Rooms Regulations:
- Students must remain silent
- Students must switch off their mobile phones
- Students mustn’t eat or drink on the library premises
- Students mustn’t take books outside the library premises without the library staff permission.
- Students can use the books, materials available on the library premises
- Student/ Employee before using the library have to register in the Library Notebook and leave their Student’s ID
- Students using Study Space and Rooms have to put down their names in the Library Notebook
Internet Library Regulations
- The Internet Library is used only for educational purposes.
- Students can use the Internet Library for 1 hour the longest, after which time they are supposed to give their computer to other who are waiting to use the Internet Library
- Students must register themselves before they use the computers. Students are obliged to write their name in the appropriate notebook and leave their Student ID.
- There cannot be more than 2 students at each computer.
- The library staff decides who can use the Internet Library
- Students must leave their coats in the cloak-room.
- Students are not allowed to use their mobile phones, eat or drink. They must remain silent.
- Student are obliged to pay for any possible damage they might cause.
- A student who does not follow the rules might be punished by not being able to use the Internet Library till the end of a semester.
