The Rules and Terms of Enrolment

Conditions,recruitment procedure and forms of study for the first year of study in the academic year of 2011/2012

I.

Enrollment isconductedby the University Committee on Recruitment appointed by the Rector.

Candidate assessment is based on Polish Matura results or equivalent.

Candidateswho hold a Matura Certificate require a grade point average of at least 3.0 for admittance.

Candidateswho hold a Matura Certificate with a grade point average below 3.0 are admitted after an interview which takes into consideration socio-economic factors and the suitability of the candidate to undertake the studies in question.

Winners andfinalists of interschool contests and Mathematical Competitions for secondary schools organized in accordance to requirements of the Małopolska School Superintendent, are admitted to the first year of study without qualification proceedings.

Polish citizensand foreigners who have completed high school abroad may apply for admission to first year of study, provided that they possess a qualification equivalent to the Polish Matura. If there is no legal equivalent of the Polish Matura in any international agreements, it is required to confirm the equivalency with the Education Department who will then verify the validity and if appropriate nostrification. The final decision for enrollment is decided upon by the Rector.

Grade average of the Matura Certificate is set at the first meeting by the UKR.

The following documents are required of first year candidates:
- A completed application form
- The Matura certificate (original or copy) and the secondary school leaving certificate. If a separate document (this may be a photocopy)
- Photocopy of identity card
- Photocopy of military identification , or a statement about belonging to WKU and granted a military category
- Four passport sized photographs,
- Proof of payment and registration fee

Final closing date for applications is 30.09.2012
- Only in extreme circumstances is it possible to lodge an application after this date, which would be considered by the Rector.
II.

Full-time andpart-time studies are available.
- Recruitment takes place from 02.04.2012 until 30.09.2012.
